American sport
So what sports in the USA can you stomach and what do you hate?

Football(NFL)
My personal favourite, I like the 49ers. Been to a few games looking to going to more this upcoming season hopefully.
I even watch the draft and read up on the scouting reports in each player selected each year. Great game to watch live too, just don’t sit in the upper tier.

Basketball (NBA)
I am a Lakers fan and have been to several games at the Forum and Staples center, both nice venues. Always amazed at the amount of celebrities you see at a game. Some of the best games occurred when Shaw and Kobe played together, although when they beat the Celtics without Shaq in game 7 was as good as it gets. The last 2 mins are always fun in any close games.

Hockey (NHL)
This is much better to watch live, these players are unbelievable how they skate around on the ice so fast and can stop on a dime. Some of the hits are pretty insane too and good fight always gets the crowd going to. I like to see the LA Kings do well but wouldn’t consider myself a fan.

Baseball (MLB)
I’m a Dodgers fan, got to know Sean Green over the years he was a Dodger big bat for a few years which is why I became a fan.
To be honest regular season games is a nice way to spend a day drinking beer in the sun, bit like cricket. Baseball gets exciting in Ictober when it’s playoff ball.

College sports are good to watch too, College football is good to watch, the USC Trojans are liked around my area.

College basketball has a tournament each year in March called March madness, If you go to Vegas when the tournament starts it will be packed. The tournament goes on all month and is full of drama , upsets and college kids leaving it all on the floor to win the (NCAA) championship. Games on all day every day in a win or go home tournament, some amazing plays and players to watch. A great tournament Everybody gets a bracket and tries to pick the winner of every game at the outset. The one with the most points wins the pot. People bet like crazy on the tournament.

One thing with living here in the states there’s always some sport to watch on TV,

I almost forgot UFC (MMA)
Even though boxing is the Mecca for boxing it is considered an international sport. MMA is always a good party when there’s a big fight on. I’m not big on all the grappling but live it when they stand up and fight.

Some great sports and some great sporting moments, it’s easy to see why the Yanks system is so successful.
Love the way they groom the high school kids for college and then groom them for the pros.
Top notch, great system.

I love Football as it goes back to when I lived in Miami for a year when I was 4-5.
Was taken to see the Dolphins and a couple of college games and it was the first top sport ever saw live. Still have a tiny Griese shirt in the attic.

The rest of it I can do without. Basketball is too easy to score, Baseball is a really, really dull version of cricket and Hockey is an exhillarating spectacle but can't get involved as I can't begin to imagine playing it.

Re: American sport
Played all of them, (except MMA, which was not really a thing)

baseball at the lowest level

hockey into my teens

basketball and Canadian football (and volleyball) to/in high school.

Was a big fan of each at various times and all in my early teens. Lost interest in baseball first, (after the Blue Jays faded).

My cousin was a decent provincial level basketball player and I got into it really big through my teens (Detroit then Charlotte because of Larry Johnson then Philly because of Allen Iverson).

NFL came later due to going to New Orleans with a jazz band. Was CFL before that - the Edmonton - team without a name - .

Hockey and Star Wars was life as a little kid, just caught the end of the greatest offensive NHL team - ever Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers - they even won one without him. After the great tragedy of my young life - him being sold to LA.

Always kind of wish I went to school in the States because of college sports and the community/alumni spirit it builds. The Boat Race is sort that but on a limited scale.

Re: American sport
NFL, NBA, MLB all very difficult to watch because they are all crap sports and are continually interrupted by commercials.

I do like the NHL, bu wish they'd get rid of the 20 minute intermission.

Why does a 60 minute game need to last over 2.5 hours?

The IPL is by far the worst culprit at this.

Burnsie you slag!

I began watching the NFL back in the UK in the 80’s. Redskins won the super bowl with Riggins as their running back.

Almost became a Bronco fan cos I liked Elwaybut couldn’t resist Bill Walsh and Joe Montana and Jerry rice. Buffalo were good back then too.

Rams will finish bottom of the west this year anyway so relax!

For me it is okay and even a lot of fun when you are watching with mates - get time to argue, debate, discuss.

The only way I have watched baseball in the last 25 years is a few times live often in little stadiums when the social aspect is more important than the game.

If you play hockey, you appreciate the intermission after getting pounded for the 6-10 minutes you are on the ice of the 20.

NFL - New York Jets - Have supported them since around the end of the 80's!
Look forward to the NFL more than I do the premier league nowadays.

UFC - Watch it every week, the Usman v Masvidal card the other week was brutal, every fight was shocking or had some kind of incident.
As a massive boxing fan as a kid and growing up I prefer this now, apart from the grappling bit.

Don't understand baseball but sometimes watch basketball but have no team.

Not sure the IPL is worse than ANY US sport for commercial interruptions, but it's not great.

I watch in the US via Hotstar, but while some of he commercials are complete and utter Indian shit, at least some of them feature tasty curry items.

followed the redskins for almost forty years, I got in to basketball watching alton byrd playing for crystal palace and I was later a bit fan of michael jordan. I don't really support a basketball team, but do pick a team each year to follow (last year miami heat, this year the knicks). I enjoy baseball but the the white sox have struggled since 2008. don't follow any ice hockey team, but love the physicality and there's a good documentary about the hard man of the sport called 'ice guardians'

I like the NBA, you can keep the rest of it, shit.

Lakers fan, how predictable now they're half decent. Lakers fans are the equivalent of those fucking divs that dust off a Brazil shirt every time the world cup is on. Should have been LeBron in that helicopter! The cunt.

Re: American sport
Apart from NFL dont watch much over here... when in the US (normally once a year) cant help get caught up... was in Tampa when the Rays were in the stanley cup and the whole place was buzzing... seen a dolphins game... SF giants play in the oracle... a few college games in which there has been over 50000...and watched NY City play at yankee stadium.... also horse racing at Santa Anita park and the pacific coast classic at Del Mar...all been superb enjoyable days out

The Ice hockey is about the best in my humble, usually a good bit of physical in the games as well, The Canadians seem to be better at it though, went to a game in Vancouver, great fun.

Re: American sport
I’ve lived over here since I was 24 or so- in Toronto, New York, LA and now Toronto again.

I like the NBA. My team is the Raptors- go about 2-3 times a season in normal times. But it is so bloody expensive. $200-300 for lower bowl seats.

Not a fan of hockey, NFL. Don’t mind baseball. As someone else said, you can sit around and drink beer in the sun and not pay too much attention to what’s going on. The playoffs are good though.

Had a season ticket at Toronto FC for about 8 years. Gave it up one year before they started to actually win things. Impeccable timing.

I'm a huge baseball fan, my team the Twins won two world series while I was living there, Kirbyyyyyyyyyy Puckett (RIP)

I follow the Vikings in the NFL, I've got a Teddy Bridgewater shirt from watching a game at Twickenham

Love Ice Hockey, I went to a fight once and a game of Hockey broke out. Don't know the rules but I think Icing is the equivalent of offside in football?

NBA, no thanks

Re: American sport
NFL: I support the 49ers, for the same reasons Nutsin has given. Soft spot for the Chiefs as I married into a family who are season ticket holders. I don't mind watching the college games either.

Basketball: I only ever bother with March Madness and that's only really if the Jayhawks are doing well in it. I don't watch the NBA.

Hockey: Don't bother with it.

Baseball: I followed the Royals in 2015 when they won their first ever World Series.

MLS: I've been to a few Sporting KC games. I look out for their results if I ever stumble across anything MLS, but I'm hardly a follower or supporter of them.

Boxing/MMA: I'll watch most decent boxing cards, and pretty much every UFC event (or at the very least, the highlights).

Trunds, the Royals won the world series in 1985, George Brett and pitcher Bret Saberhagen
